Do Your 'Natural' Supplements Contain Binders? Fillers? Inactive Ingredients?
Why is Zatural so keen on ONLY active ingredients in their supplements? Most products on the market contain any number of additives from A-Z. They call them Fillers, Binders, Additives, Flowing Agents or Lubricants.
Take a look inside the supplements you take on a regular basis, and you might be surprised by what you find.
“Other, or Inactive Ingredients”
Some of the most common are magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, titanium dioxide, starch, microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, simethicone, vegetable gum, talc, propylene glycol, and rice hull to name a few. You will find these “other ingredients” at the bottom of the supplement panel on the back of your supplement bottle, sometimes listed as “inactive ingredients”.
These “other ingredients” are generally NOT in the product to benefit your health and have little or no nutritive value. They are used to inexpensively bind, fill, and lubricate, capsules and tablets to expedite processing.
Please note that artificial colors are often seen listed as well. While sometimes some binders are absolutely necessary, and the value of the overall formula far outweighs the use of one or two of the less harmful binders, the use of artificial colors should never be taken.
You are paying a lot for your supplement. Why can't the companies spend a little more on your supplement by filling it up with the active ingredients or leaving it partially empty? Adding cheap ingredients as fillers and binders defeats the purpose of going natural to assist your health and recovery.
Although rare, some people may report an allergic response or have an intolerance to these added ingredients, and over the years there have been studies that have shown that some of these ingredients negatively impact the immune system directly.
Some of these most commonly used additives have also been shown to negatively impact your health and/or product efficacy by hindering the body’s absorption of certain nutrients. The objective of taking a dietary supplement is for the herbs or nutrients to break down and be utilized by our bodies. Additives do not generally facilitate this process.
Your health matters
The best nutritional supplements promote quick uptake by the body of the nutrients they possess. They do this by being in a form that can easily assimilate into the body so it can access the herb or nutrient and expose it to processes that will ultimately lead to the nutrient taking part in cellular metabolism. Zatural uses a blend of enzymes to assist the body in activating the other ingredients. The enzymes increase the bioavailability significantly.*
Zatural will forever be committed to going the extra mile to create the absolute highest quality of supplements with NO Fillers_NO Additives _NO Binders. We believe the cleaner the better. Less of the yuck – more of the good stuff! Next time you “swallow a pill”, look inside your supplements by checking the “other” ingredients, and let us know what you find!
