Rosehip oil has a delicate woody smell –– it doesn't smell like roses like you would presume. This color of this oil generally ranges between a deep golden hue to a vibrant red-orange to a light-yellow color. Rosehip oil comes from the seeds of the Rosa Canina rose bush, commonly found in Chile. Rosehip Seeds have been used worldwide for hundreds of years. Zatural Rosehip oil is gathered through the process of cold pressing, which is more effective than heating.
Rosa Canina oil or Rosehip Oil comes rich in essential fatty acids. It contains exceptionally high levels of Vitamin C. There are, of course, benefits to both fatty acids and Vitamin C. Rosehip oil is known as a "dry" oil, which means it is non-greasy and quickly absorbs.
First off, because of the amounts of fatty acids (omegas 3 and 6) found in Rosehip oil and the quickness in which the oil is absorbed into the skin, Rosehip oil is a fantastic hydrator and moisturizer. Rosehip oil helps lock in the moisture in your skin, even in dry climates. Retaining moisture in your skin will support the softness and elasticity of your skin.
The second benefit of rosehip is the high concentration of Vitamin C. Vitamin C has several advantages when applied topically to the skin. Vitamin C naturally offers UV protection from the sun. Vitamin C also can help boost collagen levels. Another benefit of Vitamin C would be its ability to exfoliate and brighten skin.
Rosehip oil has long been used as a folk remedy for healing wounds, fading scars, and reducing fine lines. These benefits are possible through fatty acids and antioxidants naturally found in Rosehip oil.
In a 2015 study, after daily application, signs of crows feet (wrinkles around the eyes) showed a significant reduction in participants. In a similar 2015 study, participants who underwent surgery and had post-surgical scarring ran a text on Rosehip oil's effectiveness. After 12 weeks, participants who used the oil saw significant improvements in scar color and inflammation.
As you can clearly see, Rosehip oil has much to offer. Along with applying Rosehip oil to your skin, it can also be applied to your hair and nails for additional benefits. The natives of Chile have used Rosehip oil as a natural conditioner for decades. Along with being a natural conditioner, Rosehip oil can assist with repairing damaged hair, renewing scalp tissue, and moisturizing hair.

I love the light feel of the oil, I use very little at a time and massage into skin areas with sun exposure, as well as use it as a hair conditioner. For hair - think very sparingly. Haven't taken it internally, though am not ruling it out. I love Zatural products - Hemp Seed Oil and CBD keep me going after injuries from car accidents and falls. They're the only anti-inflammatories I can take (aspirin/NSAIDs cause anaphylaxsis).
My super sensitive mature skin loves this!
