Appethyl extract comes from the spinach plant and was developed by Lund University in Sweden. Appethyl is usually available in a mixed-green powder or capsule form. This spinach extract powder can be mixed into smoothies or water for the best results.
This powder is made up of concentrated spinach leaf thylakoids. Thylakoids are microscopic structures found inside the chloroplast of spinach plant cells. Thylakoids' primary responsibility is to harvest sunlight; this process is known as photosynthesis. Photosynthesis provides the plant with energy to produce carbs (1).
Thylakoids are not exclusive to the spinach plant but can be found in all green plants' leaves. However, spinach contains a higher concentration of Thylakoids, and that is why spinach is used.
Appethyl is known to be a natural solution for weight control and loss. Appethyl was developed and researched by Lund University in Sweden. Their scientist studied how the spinach plant's thylakoids played a part in controlling appetite, slowing down fat digestion, and causing a reduction in eating when consumed in large amounts.
Thylakoids from the spinach leaf extract subdue lipase, the enzyme that breaks down and digests fat. Studies show that this assists in delaying fat digestion, which may help control your appetite-reducing hormone (2, 3, 4, 5). Thylakoids only cause a temporary delay in fat digestion, but they will not entirely prevent it.
Studies in overweight adults suggest that adding 3.7-5 grams of Spinach Extract to a meal reduces the appetite for a significant amount of time (4, 6, 7). Suppressing one's appetite, Appethyl could lead to weight loss if taken regularly over several months.
Another study on overweight females found that eating 5 grams of spinach extract every day for three straight months and a weight loss program resulted in 43% greater weight loss than the placebo group (5).
Fat mass, BMI, and lean mass decreased, but the test subjects' differences were insignificant. When it comes to Appethyl, more research is still needed. Most research that has been completed has been done with a potential conflict of interest. However, studies show that Appethyl Spinach Extract may help support weight loss.
Take one Tablespoon of water, smoothie, juice, milk, etc., at least once daily. The effects will last up to 8 hours. It is best taken in the evening or late afternoon. Taking twice daily will keep the effects going up to 16 hours.
The effects of Appethyl are increased if taken with a fat such as nuts, milk, egg, avocado, coconut oil, etc. 1 gram of fat will activate the Appethyl. For easy mixing, get our Zatural Appethyl Shaker Bottle. For recipes, purchase the Book "Lose it fast!"
