Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) has a history dating back 5,000 years. It has been used as a food, preservative, cleaner, and medicine. Hippocrates used ACV for coughs and colds. Today, the benefits of ACV are highly popular.
CBD companies have combined CBD with ACV to create a wellness product. This combination may have several benefits. You can incorporate this product into your wellness routine in various ways.
What Is Apple Cider Vinegar?
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is made from crushed apples that are fermented. The fermentation process creates alcohol, which natural bacteria convert into acetic acid. This process also forms a substance called "the mother," which consists of strands of proteins, enzymes, and healthy bacteria.
The mother is responsible for most of the health benefits of ACV. Some companies strain the mother out, but others leave it in because of its natural benefits. The fermentation takes about 2-4 weeks, and the ACV liquid becomes amber-colored. The apple cider vinegar mother benefits out way typical ACV benefits.
Can Apple Cider Vinegar Help You Lose Weight?
Everyone wants a good weight loss supplement, and apple cider vinegar may be just that! According to a study published in 2018 by the Journal of Functional Foods, apple cider vinegar positively affected weight loss in the subjects who participated in the experiment. Those test subjects reported a reduced appetite compared to the placebo group.
Researchers came to these conclusions by administering 30 mL of ACV per day to participants for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, these participants experienced "significantly reduced body weight, BMI, hip circumference, visceral adiposity index, and appetite score" compared to the control placebo group.
Researchers attributed these findings to a reduced appetite after ACV administration, resulting in reduced cravings and smaller portions.
More research is needed to explain exactly how apple cider vinegar reduces appetite. However, this study's results are promising and exciting for the weight loss world.
How Does CBD + Apple Cider Vinegar Work Together?
Combining CBD with apple cider vinegar (ACV) can have synergistic effects, especially in the digestive tract. CBD's relaxation and calming benefits may help prevent emotional eating, which can contribute to weight gain.
Additionally, CBD's potential to improve comfort levels could encourage physical activity. CBD assist in supporting weight management indirectly by promoting a more active lifestyle. CBD may help reduce the urge to overeat because of emotional distress.
While CBD won't directly cause weight loss, its effects on mood and comfort levels may help you make healthier choices and stay more active. Click here to learn more about the benefits of CBD.
Why Should I Take Apple Cider Vinegar?
The benefits of ACV make it a popular choice for many individuals. Rich in acetic acid and antioxidants, ACV may aid in weight management, digestion, and blood sugar regulation. Incorporating a daily dose of apple cider vinegar into your routine could support overall health and well-being.
Blood Sugar Control
When apple cider vinegar is made, helpful bacteria change alcohol into acetic acid. Scientists have found that this acetic acid might help lower blood sugar levels. One 2015 study discovered that after people ate a lot of carbohydrates, the acetic acid in vinegar could lower the amount of glucose and insulin their bodies made.
In another study, however, when people with type 2 diabetes took vinegar, their bodies seemed to use glucose better, and their insulin worked better, too. Apple cider vinegar is good at reducing blood sugar, but more research is needed to understand exactly how it works.
Weight Management And Appetite Control
We've already discussed that apple cider vinegar positively affects weight loss, but let's further discuss how this might be possible.
Research has shown that acetic acid may be the biggest player in using apple cider vinegar for weight loss. A 2014 study showed that acetic acid when converted to acetate, enters the brain and suppresses appetite.
This type of appetite suppression prevented users from feeling snacky, which helped the study participants lose weight by allowing them to eat less throughout the day.
A 2016 study found that acetic acid can slow the development of fat buildup in the body. Instead, it helped flush out fat cells rather than letting them be distributed throughout the body.
Antimicrobial Properties
One 2018 study demonstrated that ACV has the potential to act as an antimicrobial agent against different types of microorganisms. This has important implications for potential clinical applications in treating infections in the digestive system and throughout the body.
ACV may also boost our immune system and regulate overall gut health. Gut health plays a vital role in immune health because a significant portion of our immune system is located in the gastrointestinal tract, also known as the gut.
The gut is lined with a complex network of immune cells, including lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, which collectively form the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT). This immune system defends against harmful pathogens, toxins, and foreign substances.
Heartburn or Acid Reflux
Undiluted apple cider vinegar and CBD are believed to help with heartburn, a burning sensation in the chest caused by acid reflux, for a few reasons:
Acidic pH
Despite its acidic nature, apple cider vinegar can actually help balance stomach acid levels. Heartburn is often caused by low stomach acid rather than excessive acid production. Consuming apple cider vinegar, which is acidic, may help increase stomach acid levels and improve digestion.
Acid Reflux Trigger
Some individuals experience acid reflux because of a lack of stomach acid, leading to improper digestion and the reflux of stomach contents into the esophagus. Drinking apple cider vinegar may help stimulate acid production, aiding in the proper breakdown of food and reducing the likelihood of acid reflux.
CBD may assist in relaxing the muscles in the diaphragm and the muscles that control the lower esophageal sphincter, which can prevent stomach acid from flowing back up into the esophagus.
Pectin Content
Apple cider vinegar contains pectin, a type of soluble fiber. Pectin may help soothe the esophagus and reduce irritation caused by acid reflux.
However, it's important to note that while some people find relief from heartburn by using apple cider vinegar, the scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness is limited.
If you have frequent or severe heartburn, it's recommended to consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and guidance on managing your symptoms. They can provide appropriate treatment options and help address the underlying cause of your heartburn. So, if you're asking yourself does CBD oil stops heartburn when paired with ACV, the answer is yes.
When Should I Stop Taking Apple Cider Vinegar?
Apple cider vinegar diet should be taken until the desired results are achieved. However, excessive long-term use may cause side effects. Undiluted ACV applied to the skin can cause burns and irritation.
ACV's acidity can damage tooth enamel. To avoid this, try apple cider vinegar gummies. They are more gentile but less effective. It can also irritate the digestive tract if taken in large amounts.
People with diabetes should avoid ACV as it can lower blood sugar levels. Most ACV and CBD products are diluted to safe levels. We recommend following the suggested dosage on the bottle.
Sum It Up!
After all the information presented, it's hard to refute the benefits of taking ACV and CBD together. The health benefits of Apple cider vinegar can be amazing; the same goes for CBD.
To improve your gut health, assist with blood sugar, or need help controlling your appetite? Then ACV is right for you. If you also regularly take CBD to assist with discomfort, support mood, and regulate good sleep habits, this product is also for you.

Hi Janice,
It is recommended that you follow the suggested use on the side of the bottle. The recommended serving size is 4 ml a day. However, the max that one person can take a day is about 2 tbsp a day or (30ml).
Can ACV be taken more than once a day—- currently taking it at bedtime—-would like to also take it in morning/ daytime for help with weight loss. Thanks
